Dear friends, Some of you already know, some not, but on the 26.01.2005 I had a bad car accident. I was on my way to Germany to visit my friends in Pfaffenhausen. Usually it takes about 2.5 hours to get from Zurich to Pfaffenhausen but this time I did not arrive… The accident happened in a small forest, just before entering the town, I was almost there, just about 200m far from my friends home when it happens. The road was partially cowered with ice and my car slipped from the road, there was no way to handle the situation and the car slept from the right line to the left line and in that precise moment, an other car appeared from the opposite direction and crashed into my car. I assume that we where both driving around 80-100 Km/h... The impact was hard and I don't remember anything from the crash. I woke up 8 days later at the hospital in Ulm ( Germany ) (Universitätsklinikum Ulm) where the rescue team brought my by helicopter and they put me in a coma in order to see if I was able to survive. It was a hard time at the hospital in Ulm . I'm very thankful to all those great people who “repair” me. I had a complex fractured pelvis (Beckenbruch) but they fixed it with some screws, six broken ribs and a light twisted, bend Atlas (last vertebra of the spinal column) and I also had a perforated lung. After almost 3 weeks in Ulm they transported me to the University hospital in Zurich . The transport was cool, it took place with a gorgeous “Bell 412” helicopter. Back in Zurich I had to stay for 3 weeks at the hospital until finally they let me go home. I'm happy that I have survived this accident and I'm very pleased and thankful to all those people that helped me in this critical situation. And I'm also thankful to the “Big Boss” who kept an eye on me. I also want to thank all my friends that helped me during my accident time.
